Why I’m Running for Commissioner of District 4

I care deeply about Queen Anne’s County and want to help meet the challenges of the future. I learned many years ago that with focus, energy, and determination you can make a difference in the world around you. I chose that path both in my career and in my community. Liz and I planted our lives here on Kent Island nearly 35 years ago because it represented the close to nature, water-oriented, friendly lifestyle I grew up with, and it would be a great place to raise our family. We were right.

I had a challenging and successful Federal career, but was always able to take time to make a difference in our community. I‘ve served as a volunteer leader in many local groups and on at least 15 advisory boards and commissions. I understand our community. I see elected office as the ultimate opportunity to serve. I believe our county can grow in a way that strengthens and protects our unique Eastern Shore environment, culture, and quality of life. We are in extremely challenging economic times which will require effective collaborative leadership. I believe I can help provide that leadership. With the help of many friends, neighbors, and supporters who share my love and vision for Queen Anne’s County, I hope to have that opportunity.
